While I was on hiatus last month up to early this month, I was very excited but been keeping my cool not to say anything. But now I can finally tell you guys about what I did before my break had started for the Christmas season. Besides all the work loads and the buckets of tear (not to mention all the commute of going to school for the sake of deadlines), I was also helping a friend of mine for his menswear class. Obviously, they were tasked to come up with a ensemble for men. I was super excited when my friend asked me if I'm available to model for his design, and I immediately said yes. Well first of all, what do I know about modelling? Then second, I don't even have the built of a model. And lastly, Why did he even bother asking me despite all my "Non-model" stand? But then I realize, Heck with it! I am a blogger, a fashion blogger that is, and I know how to rock clothes. So... why not?
The design behind this was inspired by Japanese culture. Overall, I was glad about how it all turned out. I was lucky enough that all the pieces were in shades of blue, because it compliments my skin tone more than lighter colors. Plus, I like how traditions of the Japanese in their clothing were modernized and turned chic. Ano sa tingin niyo guys, pwede na ba ako maging model? Let me know in the comment section down below. For now, see the rest of the outcome of the shoot.
My personal favorite is the over-sized Kimono with lace details. I like the minimal approach of the pattern and I am in love with the details and the cut of this bad boy.
Did you know that up until now, even though Japanese people already accepted the western when it comes to fashion, there are still a lot that prides their own traditional pieces. Also, the designs and patterns of their Kimonos, Fundoshi, or even Happi that they are going to be wearing, depends on the season. Like if it's Autumn, they would opt for neutrals or in the shade of Autumn. Then, when it's spring, expect floral and refreshing palettes on their garments. If you love this post as much as I do, don't forget to comment down your thoughts. Show some love and support by following me on my facebook page. Thank you so much! Till then...
Stay Brylliant!
