Thai now or Sigh later #TheOriginalBKKExpress

*Channeling my inner asian spirit* There were times way back that I binge watch Thai series on my laptop from midnight to around 4am, and I would just watch BTS(behind the scenes) or gags about the show afterwards. I'm such a big fan of everything Thai because of how they speak their language, their culture, and the food that they eat. I'm currently watching what I eat now because I'm not getting younger and I've decided to start living on a more healthy lifestyle. I've recently gone wild with salads and pastas these past few months, but I still eat a lot of meat. I just watch the calories I take in. So, this newly opened restaurant is super perfect for that. For those of you who wants to live healthier without ruining the flavor and the whole point of "food", this is a must visit.

I got invited to one of Cabalen group of company's newest part of the chain, #TheOriginalBKKExpress. BKK Express or 'Bangkok Express' is a Thai-themed restaurant. A sister company of Soi, BKK Express caters for families/friends that are on the go, but still wants a well-prepared lunch or maybe dinner while running errands at the busy streets of Bonifacio Global City.

BKK Express opened it's stall last December 3, 2016 to food bloggers (Yes! Self-proclamed food blogger na po ako.) to do a taste tests on what they offer. Below are some of the food that we got to try. I must say, unlike the usual Thai food, which are quite spicy, people that are not very strong for the heat would enjoy these. The head Chef of the restaurant said that he believes more than just spicy food, Thai food is known for having a well-balance of flavors, without taking out the exquisite taste.

Thai Bagoong Rice. This is the Thai's version of our well-known Bagoong Rice. They just tweaked it by adding: Cucumbers, Tofu, and of course chili.

Pad Thai or Phat Thai is Thailand's signature stir-fried rice noodle dish. It can be topped off with chicken, beef, tofu, or even be a combination.

Pad Thai Chicken

Pad Thai Tofu

Not just made with fresh ingredients, BKK Express wants not only to serve Thai dishes, but also express the authentic ingredients being used for each dish. They make sure that you really get most out of your experience.

Pad Thai - Singaporean Style.

Thai Noodle with Roasted Pork.

Segway ko lang, ever since I saw this chair at Uptown Mall, I just can't get enough of it. If I only have Dora's backpack, I had already took at least 3 home.

Isaan Sausage or Sai krok Isan. - This is a Thai snack that originated from the northeastern part of Thailand. This sausage consists of pork and rice inside. It's usually eaten with nuts, chilis, and sliced ginger, all wrapped in a piece of raw cabbage. I personally love this one. It has a balance of salty, sweet, and umami flavor. You won't regret every bite of it.

Chicken Satay - My personal favorite. If you're a fan of barbecues and anything curry (besides Stephen! LMAO), this is like an all-in-one experience.

Thai Iced Tea - they also served different kinds of drinks like Thai coffee, but this one is a must-try.

Water Chestnut with Crushed Ice and Toddy Palm (Top) and Sticky Rice Mango Sundae with Sherbet (bottom) - To finish off your course, try these desserts. I promise, it changes the game of asian dessert.

Again, I had so much fun dining with my fellow food bloggers and experiencing Thai culture by the food they serve. I like mostly everything on the menu. I have to admit, this is a bit expensive if you just want to have a simple lunch or dinner break while at work, but every penny is worth the spend. Thank you so much Cabalen group of company and to our PR for making this possible. till my next #BrylliantEats.
Make sure to pay them a visit at the 4th Floor Food Hall , UPTown Mall, Bonifacio Global City , Taguig City.
